Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Neo-con Spin

Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard used this same talking point last night on Brit Hume's show against Miers' critics.

The neo-cons are just angry because their boy's presidency is tanking. I was surprised to see Bill Kristol, high priest of the neo-cons, jump ship on this one, though. I find that very interesting.

The word on the street is that Rove picked Miers. I have to wonder if the old boy might not be losing it. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
