Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: RE: The Rich and Proud Vs. Christianity

Ah, just getting your goat, Steve.

So enlighten us, oh wise and wonderful one. What did Jesus say (exactly please, paraphrasing is a waste of time) about "this sort of pride?"

I think you know.

Are we having a bad day? Did someone pee in our Cheerios?

No, all's cool in my camp. I'm just amused at how Christianity is manipulated to condone or demonize particular political and social stances around here, then all of a sudden, the ol' cold-hearted atheist Ayn Rand shows up to praise monetary wealth and pride. It's funny stuff.
