Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

"All options are on the table"

Oh, but we are, my friend. Bush said "all options are on the table." When pressed on whether that means invasion, he repeated the statement.
Of course Bush is going to say he's keeping all options on the table... Every president except Carter & Clinton has always said "all options are on the table." Remember, the Iranians let those hostages go on Jan. 20, 1981 because they thought Reagan would use military force to get those hostages... Reagan pretty much said he would use force on the campaign trail. When you're president, you have to let your enemies know that you're willing to use the full might of the United States if it comes to that... For the most part, keeping "all options are on the table" has been successfully used as a deterrent. I place "all options are on the table" under the "peace through strength" category. :-)

The Iranians have put their nuclear experiments in fortified bunkers that we can't touch without using strategic nukes. Are we willing to do that? I don't think Bush has the guts.
Is the US still planning on developing those nuclear bunker busters??? If so, Bush will use them if he feels like that will do the job.

It is far easier for him to feed a few more kids to the cannons, and the outcome is a new Persian "democracy" fashioned in Bush's own image.
You sound like Jack Murtha there... :-)

I'm comparing Bush and his neo-cons with the Politburo.
The paranoia is strong there in Brown Mtn... It must be something in the water there in Pinch Gut branch. :-)
