Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

First strike...

Andy, in case you hadn't noticed, we already invaded and occupied one sovereign nation and we're openly contemplating doing it again. Oppression is also in the eyes of the oppressed.
We are not contemplating invading and occupying Iran... We are openly contemplating knocking out some of their nuclear weapons sites to set their program back a few years. I have no problem with that.

The Soviets used to say exactly the same thing. This still comes down to "might makes right." It's just a matter of deciding that one believes our might is backed by morality.
You lose me when you compare the US with the Soviets...
