RE: Steve's Public School Story
Why do you hate the public school system and its devoted, hardworking teachers so?
I'll answer your question with a question. Why do lib...erm...people who hate to be called liberals who are unable to rationally rebut criticism of one of their pet causes always resort to couching the topic in personal and emotional terms?
I have very little respect for the standard government school apologist's carefully scripted, tiresomely hackneyed, cheap, and dishonest rhetorical gimmick of ad hominem diversion. I have even less respect for the puff and bluster assertions that it is original thought when anyone with working higher brain function can recognize the verbatim repetition time after time.
Isn't 'education for all' one noble cause worth funding via tax revenue?
In a word, no. For one thing, education for all is of the same utopian pipe dream that brings us "social justice" and "fairness." But there is no need for me to belabor that, the evidence speaks for itself. Furthermore, funding education with tax dollars inevitably leads to forced attendance which is tyranny.
And besides, I have a super bright, happy-go-lucky 1 year old son to send somewhere for school sooner than I ever expected... Montessori schools, perhaps? We're weighing all options and the more opinions, the better.
Montessori would be a good option for someone who wanted a superior education for their child without sacrificing the socialist indoctrination provided by the government-run schools. Why not homeschool? With the resources you have available to you, there is no doubt that would provide a far better education than you could find anywhere else.
