Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: RE: How?

I have to say that I agree with Steve on this. Why can't we enforce the laws that are already in place? And where is the INS in all of this? It is a shame that the American gov't cares more about these illegal immigrants than about the legal American public. I say that we heighten military resources along the border, including the minutemen groups and give them one order, shoot to kill, but once again our "lets make everyone happy" nation will not go to such lengths to put a final stop to this situation.

The problem here is that the illegal aliens are just that ILLEGAL, so why is there any debate about this situation anyway, plain and simple they are criminals and should be treated as such. I don't understand why we are giving them a chance to even stay in America when the law states that any illegal immigrate should be deported.

Today has been dubbed "national day of action for immigration justice". In over 70 U.S. cities marches are taking place to protest the immigration issues in our country. I say the INS should get every greyhound bus they can find and go to these marches and start loading up these illegal immigrates and start deporting them back home. What is a better time than now when they are all in one place? How easy is that?
