Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Re: Strother for School Board

Glad you liked the ideas, Steve. I do think that they could help the school system.

So when are you moving back to Stokes County to run for the Board of Education, Strother? I'll vote for you. Heck, I might even put your sign up in my yard.

Hmm, I don't know about that one. I think I'd rather be one of the teacher recruiters... but just in case, I'll remember what you said about the vote and the sign.
