Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Robinson is already deep in the mud in 13th District

If nothing else, Vernon has earned his place in local history for how consistently he irritates liberals.

Despite the wry face Scott tries to put on this article, it is obvious that Vernon just boils his blood. Vernon has been dealing with the hysterical harpies at the Winston-Salem Journal for so long, I expect he just chuckles when he sees things like this.
