Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Foxx's foe says primary is indicator

I don't see how Lieberman's defeat in a Democrat primary in Conn. is a bellwether for what is going to happen in the 5th district race in the fall. I guess it's wishful thinking on Sharpe's part.

I agree 100%, regardless of the fact that I'd like to see Foxx booted out on her ass. Talk about a politician towing the tired old party line. Either she’s a moron, or a disingenuous shill — a party line Kool-Aid drinker, speaking of Kool-Aid drinkers and all. Her success makes you wonder if 5th District NC residents prefer hearing want they to hear over simple honesty.
