Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Say it ain't so, Joe...

Lieberman Concedes Defeat In Senate Race

U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman conceded defeat just after 11 p.m. in the bitter Connecticut primary.

But Lieberman pledged to continue his candidacy as an independent in the general election in November.

When Ned Lamont was giving his victory speech tonight, surrounding him was Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Kim Gandy... That's pretty much today's Democrat Party.

Another interesting note is the losing streak of candidates who have Bill Clinton campaign for them... It seems every candidate he personally campaigns for gets beat.

With that said, at least the voters had sense in Georgia:

McKinney Loses Runoff for Georgia Seat

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) --
Cynthia McKinney, the fiery Georgia congresswoman known for her conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11 attacks and the scuffle she had earlier this year with a U.S. Capitol police officer, lost a runoff election Tuesday for her district's Democratic nomination.
