Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Conspiracy Candidate

Fox News

Democrats in Florida's 15th Congressional District have nominated a U.S. House candidate who calls the official 9/11 story "hogwash."

Retired Air Force officer Dr. Bob Bowman — who headed up a missile defense program under Presidents Ford and Carter — says that, if elected, he'll call for a truly independent investigation of 9/11, calling the 9/11 Commission's report a "whitewash, a cover-up and a bundle of deception."

So who does he think was behind the attacks? Why, Vice President Cheney of course, who Bowman accuses of "high treason and conspiracy to commit murder."
