Coming 'Home:' Actress Betty Lynn is 'just one of us,' local resident says

MOUNT AIRY (Winston-Salem Journal) - Betty Lynn, the actress best known as Thelma Lou on The Andy Griffith Show, has come home to a place that until recently existed for her only as a fictional town on a set in Hollywood.

She moved from Los Angeles in January to settle in Mount Airy - Griffith's childhood home where the Mayberry diners and barbershop of the TV show took their names.
