Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Fred Thompson's Wife...

He's well within the bounds of the trophy rule (half his age plus seven years).

He's probably a pretty decent guy in private life. Decent guys don't need looks to win the pretty girls. Or at least the pretty girls who have a functioning brain.
