Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Nobel laureate calls for removal of Bush

Irish peace activist's speech at Dallas event gets standing ovation

(Dallas Morning News) -
Nobel Peace Prize winner Betty Williams came from Ireland to Texas to declare that President Bush should be impeached.

In a keynote speech at the International Women's Peace Conference on Wednesday night, Ms. Williams told a crowd of about 1,000 that the Bush administration has been treacherous and wrong and acted unconstitutionally.

"Right now, I could kill George Bush," she said at the Adam's Mark Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas. "No, I don't mean that. How could you nonviolently kill somebody? I would love to be able to do that."

I bow to no one in my distaste for George Bush, but this woman needs to mind her own business. I imagine the Irish would be pretty annoyed if Americans were making speeches demanding the ouster of their government.

And where was the Secret Service? This woman should be in jail, or at least we should have had the satisfaction of seeing her tackled and beaten by a beefy agent in a black suit. I thought we didn't let foreign nationals threaten our President, especially on our own soil.

I am not surprised by this idiot’s comments. In order to receive these “awards” you have to hate America and George W. Bush. When the peace-loving extremists come to your country make sure you give them a hug (hopefully they won’t be wearing a suicide vest).

Her fellow Nobel Peace Prize winner, Jimmy Carter, probably wrote the speech for her. Spewing "Bush Hatred" is a worldwide sport now. She probably felt safe saying it because she hears some of the same rhetoric towards Bush from members of the Democrat Party in Congress.

The Irish Woman's inappropriate comment aside....
Anyone who still supports/likes George W Bush must be a champion moron.

Nature Boy step to the podium to collect your prize!

It's one thing to dislike the president, it's quite another to say you want to kill the man. Of course, Anonymous, you turn it personal... How small of you.
