New Goodyear deal adds $20 million

NO OVERRIDE OF EASLEY'S VETO

RALEIGH (Charlotte Observer) -
The General Assembly avoided a historic override of Gov. Mike Easley's veto Monday night, instead crafting a new corporate incentives program worth up to $60 million.

Tire maker Goodyear, which was at the center of Easley's veto last month, and its archrival, Bridgestone Firestone, are both expected to queue up for the money.
