Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Chief quits health post

DANBURY (Winston-Salem Journal) - Don Moore, Stokes County’s health director since 2005, resigned yesterday.

The Stokes County Board of Health suspended Moore with pay last month for “alleged violations of personal conduct,” according to a letter detailing his suspension.

The board had barred Moore from health-department buildings and from talking to department employees until the investigation is complete, according to a letter signed Sept. 12.

After being on paid leave for about five weeks, Moore submitted a letter of resignation to the health board. He said he resigned because he felt he could no longer be effective there.
