Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Name Change

(Fox News) - British children's book author Kes Gray says he will change the name of one of his characters from "Mohammed the Mole" to "Morgan the Mole" — after the prosecution of that British school teacher who got into trouble when her students named a teddy bear "Muhammad."

The London Times reports author Gray had used Muslim and Hindu names for characters in his book "Who's Poorly Too" in order to embrace other cultures. But now he is postponing the reprinting of his book and renaming the mole — in order to avoid offending Muslims.
