Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Together Forever?

(Fox News) - Meanwhile — another group says couples contemplating divorce may now want to stay together — not just for the kids — but for the planet. Research published in the proceedings of the national academy of sciences says more divorces mean more households — and significantly higher energy and resource consumption.

It says that in 2005 alone, divorced households in the U.S. used an extra 73-billion kilowatt hours of electricity and 627 billion gallons of water compared to married households.
