Boyles is remembered fondly by friends, family

(The Stokes News) - Last week, residents of Stokes County suffered a great loss when former county commissioner and former mail carrier Henry Ellis Boyles died.

The lifelong county resident was well known as a farmer, a WWII veteran, the county’s last coroner, a county commissioner, a mail carrier in King and in Rural Hall and a board member for YVEDDI for 30 years, the Horne Creek Living Historical Farm board and the Stokes County Mental Health Association, as well as a good neighbor and good friend. He was also an active member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
