McCrory moving in on race for governor

He lists people who would oversee finances

RALEIGH (AP) -
The mayor of Charlotte, Pat McCrory, has filed paperwork to create the “Elect Pat McCrory Governor” campaign committee, but McCrory said only that he would announce his plans soon.

McCrory, 51, a seven-term Republican, filed the “Statement of Organization” on Tuesday night, disclosing an intention to run for office and listing the people who will oversee his campaign finances.

But he kept mum about his intentions, telling The Associated Press that he would not talk about the paperwork or whether or not he is actually in the race.
