A momentary pause...
...from Andy's avalanche of NRO and Faux News spam is called for.
It should be remembered that everyone on this blog expressing support for Dr. Paul has insisted all along that he had a slightly better chance of hitting the lottery than he did of garnering the GOP nomination.
I can't help but wonder if the professional GOP bloggers, right-side pundits, and assorted so-called conservative media types aren't just a little bit retarded. Or are they so arrogant that they believe Ron Paul's supporters will come crawling back to support one of the crop of liberals they seem to prefer? I can't speak for others, but being called four different kinds of crazy or stupid isn't exactly motivational for me. As well, the contemptuous sneering being handed out by most of the contributors to NRO, Town Hall, and the Pajamas Media doesn't bode well for getting us "whackos" out to vote for their boys in November. K-Lo and Byron York will have no one to blame but themselves as they watch Hillary's coronation.
I am honestly tempted to vote for Hillary Clinton at times like these. It's well past time to get the revolution started, and the rein of Her Ghastliness will most certainly help propel us in that direction. I have to admit that the thought of some of the idiots in Congress swinging from the gibbet alongside their sycophants in the punditry does give me an occasional bright moment in my day.

We all know you're going to vote for Hillary in the fall, Steve... You have a vested interest in her election. For any type of "revolution" to start, it must hit rock bottom first, and Hillary winning a four year term in November will be rock bottom. :-)

Yes, let's talk about "rock bottom." Who's to say we haven't already hit rock bottom? In other words, Hillary doesn't need any more help from Republicans.

Ah, but don't forget that Duyba is rock bottom. After all, he's the one that gave us the Iraq War, the blunder of modern political blunders, that all those Republicans — other than Paul, the conservative that your party ignores — feel obligated to still support. (McCain? He's fine with indefinite American military presence in Iraq, and he's your New Hampshire winner. As a result, he's already a loser.)
The whole crew of Republicans — again, other than Paul — are the rock bottom in a rock bottom collection of presidential candidates. Those clowns are still selling Iraq to an audience that doesn't buy it! One of 'em's still selling 9/11! Can you believe it?
Actually, it could be much worse than Hillary or Dubyah. We could get Huckabee or Edwards. There's your rock bottom. The scary thing about both of them is that because they are both populists, there would always be some loud minority telling us how wonderful they are. Shades of Dubyah...

Let's not forget that all three Democrat front-runners also support the indefinite war and Edwards and Obama favor expanding it.
The ruling class in this country has already made its decision on who will be the next occupant of the White House. The pubbies fell down on the job when they offered up Giuliani as their goat, failing to recognize that flyover country would never accept a New York liberal, even as a sacrificial lamb. As well, Ron Paul threw a nasty wrench in the works, necessitating the entry of Thompson into the race. Romney is the anointed one of the GOP establishment (the one George Will claims is non-existent, or at least non-functional). You can almost see the campaign this fall. Romney is such an unprincipled weakling, Hillary will take him apart like a cheap toy, looking lofty and moral while she does it.
All of this farce of democracy is little more than entertainment for the proletariat, vaguely similar to the "elections" held in Soviet Russia. The die was cast in 1994 when the people actually staged their mini-revolt. Ever since then, the manipulation of the elite has been in high gear. It only remains to be seen which member of the Bush Dynasty will come along to step in behind Hillary in 2016.

And, as I said before, it's funny how Kucinich (D) and Paul (R) are the only two who've been consistently right about the war all along ... and are labeled 'the wacky fringe' of their own parties.
If the parties were further apart in philosophy — like, for instance, centered on the platforms of Kucinich and Paul instead of being about personality contests and egos — we'd likely be in much better shape. We also wouldn't have to stomach this kind of election while possibly eliminating the current 'royal American family' trend.
I think the essential point that people will have to get is that there are not two political parties in this country. There is one party with two factions. Over time, the factions disagree less and less. If it continues along this line, the candidates will literally have to argue over their choices of footwear and clothing. If Romney and Clinton are the nominees this fall, the debates will be utterly pointless, other than being an opportunity for the two of them to score points on each other with snappy one-liners. They do not differ on policy in enough of a significant manner to make discussion even worthwhile. Voters would do as well to simply flip a coin.
Since Americans are like puppies, they have to have their noses shoved in their own crap in order to learn, I fully expect this farce to run to its logical conclusion in the fall. Will Americans be able to put down their Budweisers and step away from the tube long enough to raise a bloodless revolt? I doubt it. I think pain is likely the only remedy. It always has been and human nature never seems to change much.
