Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

A weakened Edwards will carry on

DES MOINES, IOWA (The News & Observer) -
Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards' run for the White House hung in the balance Thursday as he finished second in the crucial Iowa caucuses.

Edwards vowed to continue his quest for the Democratic presidential nomination, saying Iowa voters provided a mandate for change.
