Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rush Limbaugh's Morning Update: Cut the Onions

The Reverend Jackson stepped in it Sunday when a Fox News open mic picked up the Reverend Jackson telling a fellow interviewee that The Messiah, Lord Barack Obama, has "been talking down to black people." Jackson then said he would like to cut Obama's... onions off. Well, he used another word, but you get the drift.

Now, once it went public, the Reverend Jackson quickly offered an apology for his "crude and hurtful" remarks. Obama hack Bill Burton assured Jackson that The Messiah, Lord Barack Obama, the most merciful, would "of course accept the apology," and forgo smiting him. For now.

But Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior -- co-chair of the Obama campaign -- had a few choice words for his dad. He said: "I'm deeply outraged and disappointed in Rev. Jackson's reckless statements about Sen. Barack Obama... His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee -- and I believe the next President of the United States -- contradict his inspiring and courageous career." Jackson, Jr. added that while he would always love Daddy Jax, he thoroughly rejects and repudiates "his ugly rhetoric."

What a family these Democrats are! Junior Jax throws Daddy Jax under the bus... for Lord Obama -- a guy who threw his grandmother under the bus -- because Daddy Jax wants to axe Lord Obama's onions!

And this is news to us because... we didn't know Lord Obama had any onions to chop!
