Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

North Stokes student killed in crash

(The Stokes News) - A North Stokes student on her way to school was killed on Friday morning, September 19, shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sixteen-year old Sonia Renee Luster of Westfield was reportedly traveling east on Highway 89 north of Danbury when she attempted to turn left onto Clyde Amos Road. Luster, a junior at North, hit a pick-up truck head on and was killed on the scene.
