Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Remembering the Gipper...

President Reagan addresses Congress and the Nation on the Program for Economic Recovery from the U.S. Capitol (First speech after the assassination attempt). 4/28/81.

“High taxes and excess spending growth created our present economic mess; more of the same will not cure the hardship, anxiety, and discouragement it has imposed on the American people. Let us cut through the fog for a moment. The answer to a government that’s too big is to stop feeding its growth.”
Ronald Reagan
