Flat Tax
(Fox News) - A federal proposal to tax farmers for owning cows and pigs is causing heartburn in rural America. The Environmental Protection Agency is floating the idea after the Supreme Court determined last year that gas emitted by belching and flatulence in livestock was in fact air pollution.
The fees would apply to farms with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 pigs. Farmers would be charged $175 per dairy cow, $87-50 for a head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog.
Farmers are expressing outrage. One estimate puts the cost for a modest-sized cattle ranch as high as $40,000/year. Perry Mobley, the director of the Alabama Farmers Federation's Beef Division says, "it seems there is an ulterior motive, to destroy livestock farms. This would certainly put them out of business."

I say....put fart monitors in the restrooms of Congress; then, put a tax on the results there. I joked about fart monitors within about a week of the election; now, it ain't no joke. I remember Andrew Dice Clay joking about 'the kinda guy that would hang out in restrooms all day smelling other people's crap." Hey, it is a new day in America. Maybe Hitlery can organize a fart monitor team out of The State Department.
Wow, this is so wrong. What about our farts? I'm sure all the humans pollute a lot more than animals do. Are they gonna tax our farts now too? Wow, this is so wrong. Our world has totally gone bonkers for real.
Guess this would put me out of business...I don't intend to pay one dime for a cow fart. If goats stay off the list, guess I could switch.
If the EPA is considering it, it is likely to happen. They have no sympathy on the consumer...their changes to diesel fuel have cost consumers millions of dollars (and it's the reason that diesel cost off-set is currently about an additional dollar above gasoline versus where it historically was). I lost 2 cars in the mid 90's due to their changes, and everyone I know that has a Benz diesel has had to spend several hundred dollars on fuel injection pump repairs since the change this year). So I would expect it...and since I would expect that humans outnumber animals, maybe they will eventually impose a similar tax on human farts. Since the tax would imply that the money will go to "cleaning up" the environment, wonder if we could expect for them to impose catalytic converters on the cattle asses?
