Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

More principals being moved

(The Stokes News) - The Stokes County Board of Education voted 4-0 on Monday, July 6, to approve more principal changes. Board member Steve Shelton was absent.

Jo Beth Clark, current principal of Southeastern Middle School in Walnut Cove, will be moving to Meadowbrook School in King. Doug Rose, assistant principal at Southeastern, will replace Clark as principal. Andrew Wiener, now in the Guidance Department at Southeastern, will become the assistant principal there.

Nancy Reynolds Elementary School will have a new principal as well—P.J. (Pamela) Holt, who is currently the assistant principal at South Stokes High School. The current Nancy Reynolds principal Rusty Hall will be moving to Forsyth County, as is Donna Horton, the current principal at Meadowbrook.
