Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Room enough for two: Pinnacle plays host to Nancy Reynolds

(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - Stokes County town of Pinnacle has had its own elementary school for several years, but now it is playing host to two. Until the new facility at Nancy Reynolds is completed, the approximately 150 Nancy Reynolds Elementary School students will be housed in two PODs on the campus of Pinnacle Elementary.

Although the two schools will share the cafeteria and gym, most everything else will be separate. “We wanted to keep the schools a separate identity,” explained P.J. Holt, the new principal at Nancy Reynolds.

When Holt arrived at her new assignment in July, there was a high level of activity at the Pinnacle site. David Burge and Ricky Goins, directors of operations and maintenance respectively for Stokes County Schools, were working furiously, along with their staffs, to have the PODs in place before teachers arrived on August 18.
