Headed for Home - Ballpark is close to complete, but the work is out of sight

(By Laura Graff, Winston-Salem Journal) - From Business 40, Winston-Salem's new baseball stadium looks like a huge pit.

The field is still dirt. The roads around the stadium are still dirt. Even the parking lot is dirt.

In reality, though, the stadium is about 87 percent complete and on pace to be finished March 26, about a week before the April 1 deadline and more than two weeks before the scheduled opener for the Winston-Salem Dash.

The difference is that most of the completed work is not able to be seen from the road.
