Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

CBS: Obama’s bipartisanship call is really demand for GOP surrender

(By Ed Morrissey, Hot Air) - The only thing surprising about this analysis of Barack Obama’s call for bipartisanship is that it comes from CBS — although the reporter, Mark Knoller, has quietly become a good read in the White House press corps. Knoller gives a biting report on Obama’s actual intentions and the desperation leading to it, but it won’t really come as shocking news to anyone in the GOP. The Democratic definition of bipartisanship has been the same since Bill Clinton demanded it for his own government takeover of health care...
