Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Chris Matthews: Sarah Palin is a Fascist

(The Right Scoop) - I’m not sure where to begin with this clip. Matthews starts out by asking “Is she a balloon head” in reference to Palin suggesting that Obama may be re-elected if he declared war on Iran to protect us and our allies, including Israel. Chris Matthews really has trouble getting over this statement. Then they go down the road of accusing Palin of preaching secession while campaigning for Rick Perry in Texas, which is absolutely not true.

But then the real olby-esque comment is made at the end when Matthews declares:

Huey Long wasn’t the most sane guy in the world…but he once said that when fascism comes to America it will call itself anti-fascism.
