Day Trips: Cone Manor

(By Brent Campbell; WGHP) - Along the Blue Ridge Parkway - Cone Manor, once the summer estate of the Cone family of Greensboro, is now a destination for hiking, picnicking and riding horses along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house itself is also open to the public, so visitors can see how the wealthy Cone family used the North Carolina mountains as a getaway in the early 1900s.
