Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews Urges Nationalizing BP, Hints at Executing Its Executives



(Eyeblast.tv) - MSNBC's Chris Matthews was in rare populist form, even for him, on his May 17 program, angrily denouncing BP as purposely not doing enough to clean up the Gulf oil spill. He also called for President Obama to nationalize the oil industry and hinted that BP's executives should be dealt the death penalty.
