Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Oops! White House Chief Of Protocol Slips On Steps At State Dinner

(By Frances Martel; Mediaite) - No White House State Dinner would be complete without a little last-minute blooper, and judging from last time’s “mistake” (the Salahis), the White House event team should be pretty happy this is the worst of it: Chief Of Protocol Capricia Penavic Marshall, slips while walking down the steps of the White House– with the First Couple looking on.

To her credit, Marshall slipped rather gracefully, and quickly got back up. It’s hard to walk in those tight dresses and high heels, much less walk down stairs. Video below:
