Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Richard Blumenthal: 'I Wore the Uniform in Vietnam'

(By Meredith Jessup; Townhall.com) - The latest evidence of Dick Blumenthal's dishonesty over his military record comes from the 2008 Stamford Veterans Day parade in which he said:

I wore the uniform in Vietnam and many came back to all kinds of disrespect. Whatever we think of war, we owe the men and women of the armed forces unconditional support.

...Meanwhile, former presidential candidate Fred Thompson doesn't mince words and rightly calls Blumenthal a "lying weasel."
