The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Robert Rodriguez Wishes Arizona a Happy Cinco de Mayo with Wild New 'Machete' Trailer

(By John Lopez; Vanity Fair) - Robert Rodriguez just dropped a new trailer for his Mexploitation masterpiece on the Internet today, just in time for Cinco de Mayo—henceforth to be known as Cinco de Kick-Ass. Starting with a perfectly placed intimidation wink to Arizona's new alienate-the-future-of-politics identity card laws, the Machete trailer probably now has more relevance than a Pakistani passport.
