Priddy’s Store should soon be making bologna sandwiches again: Rep. Holloway introduces legislation to exempt Priddy’s from health regulations
(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - Bologna sandwiches may once again be in vogue at Priddy’s General Store in Danbury. If a bill in Raleigh is signed into law by Governor Bev Perdue, patrons will be able to order up a slice of thick bologna on bread with no fear of breaking any health laws.
“It has been a family tradition,” said Jane Priddy Charleville, proprietor of Priddy’s General Store. “We’ve been making bologna sandwiches here since 1929.”
Rep. Bryan Holloway of the 91st District which includes Stokes County is the push behind the part of House Bill 1766 which specifically states how Priddy’s and other old stores will be exempted from certain health regulations.
