The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Report: Microsoft Considering Mebane for Data Center

MEBANE, N.C. (WGHP) - Microsoft could be considering Alamance County for a new data center it wants to build on the east coast, according to a report.

Alamance Co. Commissioner's Chair Linda Massey said officials had discussed "Project Deacon," a plan that includes a large data center that could bring a $120 million investment to Mebane. Massey could not confirm the project involved Microsoft.

According to the report, Virginia is also being considered for the data center.
