Tea Party rally draws enthusiastic crowd in Pilot Mtn

PILOT MOUNTAIN (By Dean Palmer, The Pilot) — Both patriotism and political passion were on display Monday morning at a march and downtown rally organized by the Pilot Mountain Tea Party group.

Hundreds of supporters of all ages gathered at East Surry High School for the 10 a.m. march, with many wearing patriotic colors and carrying flags or signs. Creative signs ranged from those voicing a variety of protests to proclamations in support of God and country. The overall mood was festive, as families gathered and friends were located in the crowd.
