Bologna sandwiches are now legal at Priddy’s--Some want to post signs there to warn the public of health regulation exemptions
(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - Governor Bev Perdue put her pen to the paper last Monday, signing House Bill 1766 into law. As of August 2, bologna sandwiches are again legal at Priddy’s General Store in Danbury and other such traditional country stores statewide.
But there are some in Stokes County who think signs should be posted at such stores to notify the public that these establishments do not have to comply with health regulations as other stores do. This issue was raised by Stokes County Commissioner Dr. Ron Carroll at recent commissioners meetings.
At their regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 9, the Stokes County Board of Commissioners agreed to put the bologna sandwich issue on the action agenda for the August 23 meeting.
