Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

"High Speed" Rail Plans Shared with Public



Raleigh, N.C. (Carolina Journal TV) – People in North Carolina and Virginia are getting their first looks at the plans to build so-called high-speed trains from Raleigh to Richmond.

The stretch is one leg of the $5.3 billion plan to build line of faster trains from Charlotte to Washington, D.C.
