Stokes County Schools gear up for brand-new school year

(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - Yet another season of school is about to commence for Stokes County students. For the mainline schools, the doors open on Wednesday, August 25. Stokes County’s Early College High School began classes on Monday, August 9.

To acquaint students and parents with the schools and teachers, open house will be held on Monday, August 23, for all schools. To further help the jump from summer vacation into the school year, the first two days of classes will be half days with early dismissals.

There are a few changes for the 2010-11 school year. One involves lunch prices for students. Breakfast and lunch fees have each increased by 10 cents—breakfast is now $1.10 and lunch will be $1.85.
