Forsyth Co., NC School Board Suspends Sch Attorney

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) - The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school board voted unanimously on Tuesday to suspend the schools system's lawyer, Drew Davis, pending the results of an SBI investigation into allegations the school system violated state laws requiring the timely reporting of potential criminal violations.

On Tuesday, officials with the State Bureau of Investigation visited the Forsyth County School System headquarters and removed at least one box of material as part of the investigation. The SBI obtained a search warrant for the investigation.

Officials said the investigation stems from allegations made in May that a teacher a school took indecent liberties with students. After the allegations were reported, the information was not passed on to law-enforcement officials.
