Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

George Will: Lacking Washington Experience Is A Considerable Plus These Days



(By Glynnis MacNicol, Mediaite) - Yesterday on 'This Week' Christiane Amanpour asked George Will to explain how come Christine O’Donnell won on Tuesday and whether or not we should actually be surprised. Answer: No. (As in, fool me twice shame on you.) Says Will:

It’s a surprise in a year full of surprises, so we shouldn’t be quite so surprised. The message was, turn them out. It was stir it up. It is the fact that you lack Washington experience is a considerable plus these days.
