King to Post Flag Policy on City Website
KING, NC (WGHP) — In an attempt to end confusion, officials here are expected to post the proposed policy regarding the flying of religious flags at the city's Veteran's Memorial Park Monday on the city's website, the Winston-Salem Journal is reporting.
The controversy concerning the flying of the Christian flag stems from an Afghanistan war who veteran complained that the flag didn't belong there. The flag was removed in September from the park.
The proposed policy allows veterans and their family, who are citizens of King, to fly a flag that honors the veteran for one week at a time at the Veteran's Memorial Park.
