Local Soldier Continues Road to Recovery

ASHEBORO, NC (WGHP) — An Army soldier from Asheboro who was seriously wounded in Iraq earlier this year is continuing the long road to recovery.

Army Specialist Josh Craven, 22, lost his left leg and his right leg was shattered when the vehicle he was driving struck an explosive outside Baghdad on Aug. 4. Craven is now recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.

"Looking at the pictures, seeing me laying in bed. It's kind of emotional seeing that I was damaged that bad," said Craven.
