Man Questions Why Forsyth County Sheriff Bill Schatzman Was Not Charged After Running Red Light

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WGHP) — A man involved in a car accident in which a Forsyth County Sheriff failed to stop for a red light remains puzzled with police's decision not to ticket Bill Schatzman.

Police say a witness told them Schatzman's car failed to stop for the red light while driving west on Fifth Street Tuesday and struck Donald Taylor's pickup truck. Taylor's truck then struck a second vehicle.

"Just as I got halfway through the intersection, I saw his vehicle," said the 71-year-old Taylor. "He pretty well destroyed the right side of the truck and then it spinned me around and destroyed the left side."
