The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Obama Signaled To MoveOn A Day After Elections He’s Looking To Continue Liberal Agenda

(The Blast) - During a phone call with left-wing group MoveOn, President Obama signaled he’s looking to continue his liberal agenda, which isn’t a surprise. However, this comes after saying he would listen to the GOP ideas and talked of compromise during his 1 p.m press conference on November 3rd.
