Stalling? Harry Reid Opens Lame Duck With 5-Minute Football Story

(By Jonathon M. Seidl, The Blaze) - Harry Reid (D-NV) apparently likes to tell stories. In fact, he took over five minutes on Monday on the Senate floor to tell the story of how his University of Nevada Wolf Pack football team beat the powerhouse Boise State Broncos over the Thanksgiving Holiday. It may have been the worst story in Senate floor history.

For starters, and before we get to the details of the speech, the burning question is why waste over five minutes on such a story? I‘m pretty sure many of Reid’s colleagues in Congress just got bounced for not doing their jobs — giving such a speech to open up the lame duck session just seems off.
