Forsyth County Commissioner Dave Plyler (R) Censured by Local GOP

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WGHP) — Local Republicans branded Forsyth County Commissioner Dave Plyler as a disloyal party member Monday night because of his support for Democrat Ted Kaplan in the commissioners' race last month, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

According to the paper, the action by the Forsyth County Republican Party's executive committee means that Plyler won't be able to sit on the executive committee or hold other positions within the local party. The action does not affect Plyler's party registration as a Republican or his status as a county commissioner.

Plyler did not attend the meeting, which was not open to the public. He could not be reached Monday night for comment.
